1. THE WORLD OF ANNA SUI



Known for her signature style – rock ‘n’ roll meets romanticism, fashion designer Anna Sui has revived and shaped pop culture for every new generation. The World of Anna Sui will showcase her career journey with 100 looks from her archive. Making the mark as the first American designer to be the spotlight of a retrospective exhibition in the UK. In addition to this exhibition, you will also get the opportunity to see a roll call of archetypes from the Surfers and School Girls to the Hippies, Mods and Punks.

2. BALENCIAGA: SHAPING FASHION

Cristóbal Balenciaga, one of the most prominent designers of the 20th century. With his open-minded view of female beauty, exquisite use of textiles, and pattern-cutting, he has been an icon, influencing not only the modernity of 1960s fashion, but also today’s fashion. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of his first store in San Sebastián, Spain and the 80th anniversary of his honoured fashion house in Paris, Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion will be the first exhibition in the UK to showcase his legacy. A fantastic opportunity to discover the craftsmanship behind the unique designs. This will feature over 100 pieces, exclusive sketches, fabrics samples, films and photographs crafted by innovative contemporary designers, his protégées,  and of course ‘the master’ of couture, Balenciaga.

3. CHRISTIAN DIOR, DREAM COUTURIER



Keeping up with their genuine traditions overtime, Dior never fails to surprise us with its elegance. In fact, the brand constantly defines luxury and style in new ways with a lasting effect. Honouring its 70th anniversary, Dior hosts a luxurious exhibition for visitors to unravel its history. This chronologically themed exhibition will highlight Christian Dior’s timeless influences and showcase Haute Couture garments from 1947 to the present day. It will also feature the six artistic directors who played a big part in shaping the fashion house’s image: Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Marc Bohan, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri.

4. YVES SAINT LAURENT

Renowned as one of the world’s most outstanding fashion houses, Yves Saint Laurent holds limelight for its modern legendary pieces and is presenting not one, but two museums this year. Having a personal connection to Morocco, the Yves Saint Laurent museum will also open in Marrakech as well as in Paris, France.  Visitors will have a retrospective take on his life, career and the inspirations that come with the cities closest to his heart.

5. LOUISE DAHL WOLFE

Noted as one of the most outstanding fashion photographers in the early 20th century, Louise Dahl-Wolfe’s avant-garde photography had the ability to make a strong impact. Her work even took effect on affirmed editor, Carmel Snow who stated:“From the moment I saw her first color photographs, I knew Bazaar was at last going to look the way I had instinctively wanted my magazine to look”.

Observing her time as the leading contributor at Harper’s Bazaar (22 years to be exact), this reflective exhibition will showcase over 100 photographs across three decades. Also, featuring her work with prominent couture designers such as Balenciaga, Dior and Chanel, this will be first dominant show presentation of her work in the UK.
